A pure expression of our vineyard selected for freshness, with bright fruit, fine tannins and the savoury character.

Waitaki is produced in selected vintages as a five-clone cuvée, composed for freshness, savoury detail and clarity of structure. The 2023 opens with redcurrant and cherry compote, lifted by rosehip, thyme and tarragon. Light in frame and finely textured, it carries bright acidity, fine-grained tannins and a subtle saline line through a persistent savoury finish.

Vintage & Wine Details

VINTAGE

Regular rainfall through spring and early summer reduced fruit set and resulted in a lighter crop. Small, clean bunches followed a long, cool ripening period before harvest under settled late-autumn conditions.

VINEYARD

Single-vineyard fruit from the Clos Ostler monopole in the Waitaki Valley. Waitaki is produced only in selected vintages from the estate’s five-clone planting and composed for freshness, savoury detail and clarity of structure.
